Peer Mentors

Our Peer Mentors are current undergraduate business students. They play a vital role in helping to advise and mentor our first year students. You may also meet with one of them during open advising hours! They are highly trained and very knowledgeable students who all have a variety of experiences in student groups, studying abroad, internships, and leadership opportunities. The Undergraduate Programs Office hires Peer Mentors every Spring for the coming academic year, please visit our Student Employment page for more information.

What I Did This Summer: I'm worked as a Market & Competitive Intelligence Intern at Breezeline. Prior to the start of my internship, I also went on a two week immersion trip to Prague, Czech republic, and Vienna, Austria with the Business Connections Learning Community. I've also been spending time with my friends and family.
Fun Fact: I love to travel and have visited eight different countries!

Career Aspirations: After graduation, I want to start off in equity or credit research, ideally for a bank. After, I will either stay on that career path, pursue an MBA, or switch to some form of private capital.
Fun Fact: I won a case competition last February!

Best Thing About Being a Business Student: I think the best thing about being a business student is getting to understand a lot of the behind-the-scenes aspects of the things we take for granted or ignore in our day-to-day life. I believe that it’s such a privilege to be able to learn and understand some of the less obvious parts of existing in a culture where nearly everything is business.
Fun Fact: I was a musician for almost 10 years (most of elementary school, all of middle school, up until I graduated high school in 2023!)

Campus Involvements: I am currently the President of the South Asian Women Empowerment Association, where I previously served as Vice President and Social Media Coordinator. I have also been a Husky Ambassador at Avery Point for two years and served as Vice President of the Business Society on campus. Additionally, I studied abroad in London during the summer, where I completed a marketing internship at the London Art Therapy Centre.
Career Aspirations: After graduation, my goal is to gain experience working in the marketing industry for a few years. Eventually, I hope to open a South Asian-inspired coffee shop that focuses on sustainability and ethical practices. I want to make sure that products like coffee beans and tea leaves from South Asia are sourced responsibly, without exploitation. A big part of my vision is to empower women by providing job opportunities and resources for immigrant women, creating a space that uplifts both culture and community.
Fun Facts: I’ve been playing the flute since I was 9 years old and I still play today.

Best Thing About Being a Business Student: One of the best aspects of being a business student is the ample resources the school provides to enhance my skillset and interact with a talented alumni pool.

What I Did This Summer: This summer I had the opportunity to attend the KPMG Explore Tax/Rise Leadership Conference in Orlando, Florida. Also, currently working as an One Summer Assistant for UConn Residential Life.
Fun Fact: I performed competitively as a Latin ballroom dancer. Additionally, I performed at Lincoln Center doing contemporary ballet. (This all happened when I was in elementary school going into middle school.)

Best Part About Being a Business Student: I really love how the School of Business has so many cool resources and opportunities to explore. From career coaching and hands-on classes to all the business clubs around campus, there’s always something going on that helps you figure out what you’re into and get ready for the real world. Plus, the sense of community is great, you’ll almost always bump into someone you know on the way to class, which makes it feel like you are part of big business group.
Fun Fact: In high school, I represented Peru by dancing traditional Peruvian dances in competitions across South America. I’m also a big fan of house music.

Career Aspirations:My goal is to become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and work at one of the "Big 4" public accounting firms as an auditor. I also want to continue traveling and explore as many new places as I can after graduation!
Fun Fact: I love spending my free time going on hikes, on bike rides, to the beach, or anything else in the outdoors!

Career Aspirations: Post graduation, I plan on taking a break before working to travel and volunteer around Europe, Asia, and South America. After that trip, I'll be working in NYC in the tech/consulting field.

Career Aspirations: I plan to earn my CPA license and pursue a career in Audit. I'm also interested in gaining a strong understanding of Criminal Justice and hope to explore how it interacts with the business world.

Fun Fact: I was born in Texas, and lived in 3 different cities there (Dallas, Austin, and Huston) before moving to New Jersey in middle school.

My Career Goals: I aim to continue developing my skills in the Assurance field within Accounting and complete the 150 credits required to sit for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam.
