Peer Mentors
2024-2025
Our Peer Mentors are current undergraduate business students. They play a vital role in helping to advise and mentor our first year students. You may also meet with one of them during open advising hours! They are highly trained and very knowledgeable students who all have a variety of experiences in student groups, studying abroad, internships, and leadership opportunities. Campus Involvements: President of the UConn Homies, Top Dogs Captain for Men's and Women's Basketball, BCLC Alum, Marketing Society member
What I Did This Summer: I'm worked as a Market & Competitive Intelligence Intern at Breezeline. Prior to the start of my internship, I also went on a two week immersion trip to Prague, Czech republic, and Vienna, Austria with the Business Connections Learning Community. I've also been spending time with my friends and family.
Fun Fact: I love to travel and have visited eight different countries!

What I Enjoy about Being a Business Student: I love that business students are eager to network and engage! I've met such an incredible group of ambitious people who are willing to put themselves out there to further their futures. Additionally, being a part of the School of Business has not only formally educated me, but has developed so many transferrable skills such as resume building, interview and networking skills, business etiquette, and internship search.
Fun Fact: I played one season of intramural flag football!

Campus Involvements: I am President of my South Asian Sorority, Delta Phi Omega Sorority, Inc. I make sure we hold events that are service, social, and academic. I work at the SOC as a Minutes Editor.
What I Enjoy Most About Being a Business Student: I love the preparation and resources that we get from the school of business. I have been so prepared to handle interviews and be confident in my own workplace. The connections the school gives you is an advantage compared to others and has made me feel confident in handling my career.
Fun Fact: I played 2nd Singles in tennis as well as figure skated!

What I did this summer: studied abroad in London in the Business in London program which was an incredible opportunity. I also interned in London during those 6 weeks and then continued internships when I came back to the US
Fun Fact: I speak 3 languages and am currently learning 2 more!

What I Did This Summer: This summer I had the opportunity to attend the KPMG Explore Tax/Rise Leadership Conference in Orlando, Florida. Also, currently working as an One Summer Assistant for UConn Residential Life.
Fun Fact: I performed competitively as a Latin ballroom dancer. Additionally, I performed at Lincoln Center doing contemporary ballet. (This all happened when I was in elementary school going into middle school.)

What I Enjoy Most About Being a Business Student: I love the many clubs and organizations that the School of Business offers. These groups provide incredible opportunities to discover what we’re passionate about, learn outside the classroom, and connect with peers and alumni. Being involved in these activities has been invaluable during my time at UConn, helping me explore different career paths and build meaningful relationships within the business community

My Career Goals: I would love to get a job in the entertainment industry, specifically music as a PR specialist or even branding. I have always been drawn to music. But I'd also love to travel the world, there are so many places I've always wanted to visit.

What I enjoy most about being a business student: I love the incredible resources available, such as the Center for Career Development office, which has been instrumental in helping me explore career paths and build essential skills. I also deeply value the connections I've made with fellow students, professors, and industry professionals. These relationships have enriched my learning experience and opened up new opportunities. The combination of these resources and connections makes being a business student truly rewarding.
Fun Fact: I won a gold medal in fencing during high school!

What do you enjoy most about being a business student? The business school offers several clubs and opportunities that have strengthened my knowledge in various aspects of the business world. I enjoy connecting with my peers and meeting inspiring alumni and professionals through these experiences.

What I enjoy most about being a business student: The most rewarding part of being a business student is the sense of community. I cannot overstate the support my fellow students and faculty have provided in helping me achieve my career aspirations. Their guidance has been instrumental in charting my professional journey, and it truly is the people that make the business school here so incredible.

What I Did This Summer:This summer I am a Marketing and Communications Intern at IBM in their RTP, North Carolina office (Raleigh, Durham area). I worked on the Demand & Experience team in the Product Lead Growth unit.
Fun Fact: I am a huge Toronto sports fan! My favorites are the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Blue Jays!

My Career Goals: I am hoping to work for the Walt Disney Company as a financial advisor/analyst! Or anything in the Business Entertainment industry.
Fun Fact: I have a dog named Browny, and I named him this when I was 12 years old because his color pattern reminded me of brownies!

My Career Goals: I aim to continue developing my skills in the Assurance field within Accounting and complete the 150 credits required to sit for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam.
Fun Fact: I was on Google Earth!

Hometown: Stamford, CT
Campus Involvement: I have been involved with the BCLC, SGA, Entrepreneurship Committee and Women in Business club. This upcoming fall I will be the co-chair for the Women in Business club. I currently work at Slice of Stamford and Chelsea Piers! I haven’t studied abroad but I will definitely do it if I come across an opportunity!
What are your career goals after graduation?: I hope to work or intern for a Big Four Firm after graduation. I also plan on pursuing the 4+1 program for the Financial Risk Management Major here on the Stamford campus. I’m not sure yet if I will work and study simultaneously or only go to school full-time, but I am excited for my future!
Fun Fact: I played tennis competitively all of high school and was captain my senior year!

What I Enjoy Most About Being a Business Student: I enjoy being able to interact with people in the business world and with students who are pursuing different majors in business. I love hearing about their experiences and sharing things in common with other business students.
Fun Fact: I love listening to Korean music and learning about Korean culture!

Campus Involvement/Work Experience:I spent the last four years working in both retail and hospital pharmacy settings. Recently, I made the bold decision to return to college to pursue a career in finance. Currently, I work as a Business Office Associate at CarMax.
What I plan to do after graduation: I aspire to achieve financial freedom and immerse myself in the finance world. I'm passionate about setting an example for women rising in traditionally male-dominated fields. Making the decision to switch careers at age 22 was challenging, but after graduation, I'm thrilled to finally pursue my dream of becoming a financial analyst or advisor.
Fun Fact: I enjoy going to the gym and have a keen interest in learning about cars. Learning how to drive a Manual Transmission was definitely an interesting experience.

What did you do this summer?: I worked closely with the Center for Access & Postsecondary Success (CAPS) program as a peer mentor, assisting with their five-week summer program. I helped first-generation college students, those from low-income households, and students from underserved populations transition smoothly from high school to college, promoting educational equity by increasing access to higher education!
Fun Fact: I played the Viola for 10 years!
