Analytics is the language of the future of business. Would you like to work towards attaining an Analytics minor? if so, this summer is your chance to make that happen. The Summer 2019 Business Fundamentals Program offers coursework in Analytics, one of the skillsets highest in demand by employers in all industries. During the intensive seven-week program you will receive training in career development and take classes in Analytics taught by instructors from one of the top AACSB-accredited public business schools in New England. This program is especially designed to provide students with the skills they need for career success.

Complete three of the four required courses for the Analytics minor. Students who are eligible for the minor and complete the program are guaranteed enrollment in the fourth Analytics minor course in the fall 2019 semester or spring 2020 semester following the summer program.

Academic Experience

The seven-week (10-credit) summer program runs at the Storrs campus from May 13th through June 27th and is open to undergraduate students.

Business Fundamentals Summer Program and Analytics Minor

All UConn students who participate in the Business Fundamentals Summer Program may pursue a Minor in Analytics that would show on your UConn transcript by taking one additional OPIM business course that completes the minor. Students are guaranteed enrollment into the fourth Analytics minor course in the fall 2019 semester or spring 2020 semester following the summer program

Non-UConn students who participate in the Business Fundamentals Summer Program, upon completion of the required courses, may request a transcript indicating completion of the Business coursework.

Registration and Fees

Course Registration

Students will be registered in the courses for this program once approved for participation.  Once registration opens for Summer 2019, courses can be viewed by looking at the Summer 2019 course offerings in the Dynamic Class Search, where the relevant sections of courses will indicated by the following note: “Business Fundamentals Summer Program.”  Other sections offered this summer of these courses that are currently being offered are NOT part of the program.

Program Fees

The total cost of attending a Summer Session (including May Term) includes both course (per-credit) fees and other mandatory fees, including the non-refundable enrollment fee. Information about the cost for the classes is found on Summer Programs website. Federal Financial Aid is available.

Current UConn Students

Current UConn Students will be registered in these courses once approved for participation in the program.  Kelly Kennedy will reach out to students registered in February for guidance on this process.  You will need to work with your current school or college to obtain excess credit authorization to register for the 10 credits included in this program.

Non-UConn Students

Non-UConn students may enroll in the courses and program by emailing Kelly Kennedy at and requesting permission numbers.  Once you are issued a permission number, please fill out the Non-Degree Registration Form and email it to for assistance with registering. Students may elect to live on campus with other participants. More information on summer housing and meal plans can be found on the Res Life website.
