HealthCare Management Society
The Healthcare Management Society unites students in the Healthcare Management major or minor and those who simply have an interest in healthcare.
Members come and listen to presentations from top industry experts and professionals from all areas of the field, ranging from consulting, healthcare IT, hospital administration, and insurance. They can attend networking events with fellow students as well as healthcare professionals who aid in career development. Students also further their healthcare knowledge by attending conferences and meetings on current events and emerging healthcare topics.
- When and Where: Bi-weekly meetings are typically held in the evenings at the School of Business.
- What: In General Meetings, members actively participate in discussions about career paths in the healthcare industry and learn about current events and challenges in the field.
- Dresscode: We are a professional academic organization so we prefer if you come in business casual attire.
- Guest Speaker Events allow members to hear from and network with industry professionals and meet with recruiters from companies such as: Cigna, Aetna, Yale New Haven Health, Hartford Healthcare, and more!
- Our workshops offer students the opportunity to enhance and practice their professional development skills. Topics covered include resume building, LinkedIn optimization, interview prep, exploring career options, and developing a personal brand. Also hear from hiring managers about what they look for in applicants.
- Case competitions are engaging events where students tackle real-world business challenges. They provide a platform for students to apply their classroom knowledge to practical scenarios, honing their analytical, problem-solving, and presentation skills. These competitions simulate the dynamics of the business world, offering valuable experience and further networking opportunities.
- Participating in case competitions can help students develop confidence, teamwork, and strategic thinking abilities, all of which are highly beneficial for their future careers.
