Recently re-established in 2019, UConn ALPFA strives to create a home for students especially students of color at the University of Connecticut. We aim to create Latino leaders for impact - in their homes, in their workplace, and in their communities. ALPFA demonstrates its commitment to providing professional development and leadership opportunities for Latinos through a variety of local, regional, and national programs.

Meet the Executive Board
Xavier Stephen Cole is an authentic entrepreneur on a mission to create and spread generational health and wealth amongst the community. In his final semester, Xavier is completing a Bachelors of Science, majored in Real Estate and Urban Economic Studies and minored in Professional Sales Leadership.
Xavier has spent the last few years fully invested in the real estate industry, from running a painting business, to interning with Boardwalk Properties; and now serving as the president of both the UConn Association of Latino Professionals Across America and UConn School of Business’ Real Estate Society.
Specific fields of interest include real estate investments, technology and innovation, and sustainable development. Xavier will be working full time as a real estate agent with Boardwalk Properties during his final semester. You can reach Xavier at email@example.com
Tareonna Alger-Rodriguez is a sophomore pursuing a dual degree in Accounting and Human Rights. She is currently the Vice President for ALPFA at UConn, a METAS mentor, a member of the First Generation Society and a member of the Human Rights and Action Learning Community. Outside of Uconn, Tareonna works as the finance intern and a community organizer at Hearing Youth Voices; which is a social justice non profit organization in her hometown. Angelica Ortiz is a sophomore pursuing a dual degree in Management Information Systems & and Individualized major in Computer Arts. She is currently the VP of Communications for ALPFA at UConn, a Hermana of Sigma Lambda Upsilon/ Señoritas Latinas Unidas Sorority Inc. where she serves as the Chapter Accreditation Program Chair and Public Relations Chair, and a Marketing coordinator for HackUConn. Aracelis Figueroa is a sophomore Management Information Systems major with a minor in Crime & Justice. She is currently the Public Relations Chair for ALPFA at UConn, a Hermana of Sigma Lambda Upsilon/ Señoritas Latinas Unidas Sorority, Inc. where she serves as the Chief Financial Officer, a METAS mentor and a Marketing coordinator for HackUConn. She currently is an Application Developer for Cigna and a Marketing Communications Community Ambassador for the Center for Fraternity & Sorority Development. Jadah Smith is a Sophomore pursuing a dual degree in Management and International Studies. She is currently the Director of Membership for the ALPFA at UConn, and is involved with a lot of organizations and clubs on campus including UCTV, Seoular, and PRLACC. This summer, she has started an entrepreneurial path by co-founding an online beauty shop, House of She. Brian Bedon is pursuing a degree with a Management Information Systems Major and an Analytics minor. He is currently the Chief Financial Officer for ALPFA at UConn, Digital Marketing Chair for the SUBOG Concert Board, and onboarding as a Resident Assistant and as a METAS mentor. He is also a current TECDP (Technology Early Career Development Program) intern for Cigna, previously working throughout the semesters and this summer. Brian always loves trying new foods as well as trying new ways to stay fit. He loves spending time with family and friends as well as sneaker culture.
