About the BCLC
Starting in your first semester, the Stamford Business Connections Learning Community (BCLC) provides a dynamic environment for School of Business students. The BCLC offers students the chance to gain:
- practical skills and theoretical knowledge for success in the business world

- international business immersion trip

- access to industry leaders
- a supportive community that fosters innovation, leadership, and lifelong learning among aspiring business professionals at UConn Stamford.
The Business Connections Learning Community (BCLC) in Stamford provides UConn School of Business students with unique ways to expand their business knowledge and skill sets. The BCLC provides ongoing opportunities to network with other School of Business like-minded students, alumni, faculty, and staff.
In the Stamford BCLC, students are provided with many opportunities for engagement through our annual Networking Forum, various employer site visits, and our Lunch & Learn Series. We also encourage interaction between members through BCLC committees. Committees allow students to develop leadership skills and create strong bonds with one another.

Being a lead manager of the UConn Student Managed Fund (SMF) was a great hands-on experience in valuation. Being able to manage $1.5 Million of assets within the S&P500, as a junior in college is invaluable. It taught me vital qualitative and quantitative skills that I will use throughout my career in finance. During my current internship at IBM, I have used the fundamental skills I have learned in the SMF every day. Throughout my time in the SMF, I gained an immense amount of knowledge in Excel and financial modeling. I highly recommend anyone to take part in the SMF
