Today, we recognize Diwali, the Festival of Lights! Celebrated by millions worldwide, Diwali is a beautiful celebration symbolizing light over darkness, hope, and new beginnings.

In the BCLC, we value and honor the diverse traditions of all our students and families. While some in our community may be celebrating Diwali, we invite everyone to join to learning about this cultural tradition and the values it represents.

October is a time to unite in awareness and support for those affected by breast cancer. Did you know that about 10% of new breast cancer cases in the U.S. are found in women under 45? It’s crucial to stay informed about our bodies and prioritize our health.

Why Awareness Matters

Breast Cancer Awareness is important because it helps educate people about the importance of early detection, which can save lives. This is vital because nearly 1 in 8 women in the United States (over 12% of the female population) will be diagnosed with breast cancer at some point in their lifetime (My ally Health). Let’s come together to support one another this month!

Join us this Monday 10/28/2024 as we wear pink in solidarity. The BCLC DEIJ committee will be handing out pink bows in G-Lounge after 12:30PM to show our support. If you’re spotted wearing pink or a bow, you could be featured on our Instagram!
