Leadership and Mentoring

Business students have many opportunities to participate in educational and experiential initiatives that challenge them to explore, strengthen, and elevate their character and leadership.

The Gramling Mentorship Program

The goal of the Gramling Mentorship Program is to create an experience where undergraduates and graduates learn how to value and engage in meaningful mentorship relationships. Students will learn the value of investing in others and how that can lead to lifelong partnerships, friendships, and successes. Every experience will be designed with intentionality to create strong mentors impacting the experience of others beyond graduation.

Undergraduate students in the Gramling Mentorship Program are paired with UConn School of Business graduate mentors based on their field/industry of interest. Undergraduate students earn academic credit for participation in the program.

"...As a mentor, Larry guides and advises with a respect that makes you believe in yourself... To know him is to become a better person.” Learn more about Dr. Larry Gramling, after whom this program is named.

Financial Management Mentorship Program

This 1-credit spring section of BUSN 1801 offers regional campus Financial Management majors the opportunity to earn academic credit as they develop a professional relationship with a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst). Students will be paired with a professional Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) through the Hartford CFA Society who will serve as a mentor. Priority is shown to students whose career goals include working within the field of wealth management after graduation.
