Student Testimonials
"Since joining the BCLC program, I have experienced tremendous personal and professional growth. The standout features of the program include the informative "Lunch and Learn" sessions, which have helped clarify my career goals, and the networking events that have enhanced my networking skills and boosted my confidence. The international trips facilitated by the BCLC have provided me with a broader perspective on global business practices and cultural nuances. Overall, BCLC has been instrumental in my growth and has even helped me secure an internship through their connections."

"The BCLC has helped me obtain my goals in countless ways. My freshman year they instilled in me the importance of networking and being involved around campus. My first semester of sophomore year, I was able to secure an internship by staying connected with a local brokerage firm that I met through an event at the school earlier in my 1st year."

"The BCLC has allowed me to work on my communication skills through their networking opportunities at various events throughout the year, most notably through their Lunch and Learns with UConn alumni and Annual Networking Forum. I’ve been able to hone my elevator pitch, practice what it’s like to meet with professionals in my industry, and get out of my comfort zone. Without the BCLC, I would not be able to meet with company executives from IBM and Stuart Weitzman, for example, as well as make connections with my own peers and friend group today. I’ve also had a chance to have a leadership position as Vice President, take part in Experimental Learning opportunities like the Target Case Competition (which my team ranked 1st place in!), and visit various Fortune 500 Companies from NBC Universal, to Synchrony Financial and Spectrum. These experiences have provided me with unique stories that help perfect my personal brand and accelerate my career."

Being a lead manager of the UConn Student Managed Fund (SMF) was a great hands-on experience in valuation. Being able to manage $1.5 Million of assets within the S&P500, as a junior in college is invaluable. It taught me vital qualitative and quantitative skills that I will use throughout my career in finance. During my current internship at IBM, I have used the fundamental skills I have learned in the SMF every day. Throughout my time in the SMF, I gained an immense amount of knowledge in Excel and financial modeling. I highly recommend anyone to take part in the SMF
