Peer Mentors
2026-2027
Our Peer Mentors are current undergraduate business students. They play a vital role in helping to advise and mentor our first year students. You may also meet with one of them during open advising hours! They are highly trained and very knowledgeable students who all have a variety of experiences in student groups, studying abroad, internships, and leadership opportunities. Career Aspirations: After graduation, I want Work in investment management for a wealth manager or asset manager and work my way up to portfolio manager. Dream goal would be to open my own wealth management firm.

Campus Involvements: I have been involved in the South Asian Women Empowerment Association (President, Vice President, Senior Advisor, and Social Media Coordinator), Leadership Legacy Experience, Cohen Scholar recipient, summer study abroad in London, and attended UConn's regional campus, UConn Avery Point
Career Aspirations: My career goal is to own a South Asian coffee shop focused on sustainability and empowerment. I want the space to highlight South Asian culture while also creating opportunities for South Asian women, including supporting and uplifting the elder generation through advocacy and meaningful work opportunities. Ultimately, I hope to build a business that combines entrepreneurship with social impact and community empowerment.

Best Thing About Being a Business Student: One of the best aspects of being a business student is the ample resources the school provides to enhance my skillset and interact with a talented alumni pool.

Best Thing About Being a Business Student: I enjoy having the freedom to take my degree into any industry and still be able to show my creativity. I also LOVE the support that is given to business students by the staff of the business school.
Fun Fact: I love doing nails and I love my Ghanaian culture!

Career Aspirations: Finish my Accelerated Masters Program for Accounting at UConn and study for my CPA. Hopefully, after that I work full time for KPMG!
Fun Fact: I performed competitively as a Latin ballroom dancer. Additionally, I performed at Lincoln Center doing contemporary ballet. (This all happened when I was in elementary school going into middle school.)

Career Aspirations:My goal is to become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and work at one of the "Big 4" public accounting firms as an auditor. I also want to continue traveling and explore as many new places as I can after graduation!
Fun Fact: I love spending my free time going on hikes, on bike rides, to the beach, or anything else in the outdoors!

Best Part About Being a Business Student: I love all of the opportunities that come with being a business student. We have access to so many resources, including networking events, career development programs, internships, and connections with faculty and staff. One of my favorite parts is being able to interact with so many amazing professors, advisors, and professionals who are always willing to offer guidance and support. I also appreciate having access to experiences that help us grow both professionally and personally.
Fun Fact: I helped create and pass a CT Bill with my friends in my senior year of high school.

What do you enjoy most about being a business student? I like the wide range of possibilities and creativity that comes with business. It can seem rigid at first but you slowly realize how far you can go with a business degree and how many different kinds of people you can meet.

Campus Involvements: Co-founder and intern of Thrift Den (a free, student-run on-campus thrift store), Alpha Phi Omega, Women in Business, Marketing Society, Her Campus, TIPS Mentor for ISSS. I also studied abroad in London during Summer 2025, where I worked as an HR intern at Marriott Hotels in Canary Wharf!
Career Goals: My career goal after graduation is to work in a role that combines creativity, strategy, and meaningful impact. I’m especially interested in areas like sustainable fashion and socially responsible business, where I can contribute to projects through roles such as project coordination or brand strategy. I hope to use my business background to help create innovative solutions that drive both business success and positive social impact while making a meaningful difference.
Fun Fact: I went surfing with my best friends in Sri Lanka last winter (though I can’t swim)!

Career Aspirations: I would like to work in house for the finance department of a publishing firm and possibly go to law school.
Fun Fact: I was born in Texas, and lived in 3 different cities there (Dallas, Austin, and Huston) before moving to New Jersey in middle school.

Best Thing About Being a Business Student: I love the opportunities you get as a business student. During my first year, I had many social networking events, and those events were golden opportunities for me to potentially meet somehow who I would work with in the future.
Fun Fact: In my free time, I enjoy basketball, pickleball, and going on a run.

My Career Goals: After graduation, I hope to build a career in finance, ideally in financial advising, where I can combine analytical thinking with helping people make informed financial decisions whether they're personal or professional. I’m drawn to finance because I enjoy understanding markets, economic trends, and how financial concepts connect to everyday life. Long term, I see myself working in a fast-paced city environment where I can continue learning, growing, and building meaningful relationships through my career.
