Peer Mentors
2023-2024
Our Peer Mentors are current undergraduate business students. They play a vital role in helping to advise and mentor our first year students. You may also meet with one of them during open advising hours! They are highly trained and very knowledgeable students who all have a variety of experiences in student groups, studying abroad, internships, and leadership opportunities. What I enjoy most about being a business student: I love working with all the people I meet in the School of Business!

What I Enjoy Most About Being a Business Student: I like the structure surrounding the business program, I am able to plan out what my college career will look like, and will be able to have an accurate idea of what classes I will take and when I will take them. There is also a decent amount of flexibility in the school of business so I never feel like I am forced to take one path in my major.
Fun Fact: I am really great at painting!

Campus Involvements: I am President of my South Asian Sorority, Delta Phi Omega Sorority, Inc. I make sure we hold events that are service, social, and academic. I work at the SOC as a Minutes Editor.
What I Enjoy Most About Being a Business Student: I love the preparation and resources that we get from the school of business. I have been so prepared to handle interviews and be confident in my own workplace. The connections the school gives you is an advantage compared to others and has made me feel confident in handling my career.
Fun Fact: I played 2nd Singles in tennis as well as figure skated!

What I Did This Summer: This summer I had an internship with Schneider Electric as a Global Marketing Intern. My focus was on end-to-end marketing for the company’s Canadian market.

What I Did This Summer: I was a Financial Management Summer Associate at Gartner. I've been traveling, and enjoying the new company space.

What I Enjoy Most About Being a Business Student: What I enjoy most about being a business student is the wide range of opportunities it offers to explore various aspects of the business world. As business students, we have the flexibility to work in diverse industries such as healthcare, retail, financial services, and many others. The beauty lies in the fact that there isn't just one predetermined path; everything is interconnected. This realization has made me appreciate the significance of networking, which we have the advantage of starting early.
Fun Facts: I hiked on a volcano to see the blue fire in Indonesia with 3 of my exchange friends. I can sneeze 10 times in a row.

What I Enjoy Most About Being a Business Student: The connections and social interactions I am able to create with other business students. I also enjoy listening to professional guest speakers and professors at UConn discuss their professional backgrounds to aid business students on how to improve their professional development. Lastly, I enjoy learning about business concepts that are applicable outside the classroom.

What I Enjoy Most About Being a Business Student: I really enjoy the community in the School of Business. I like that there are constantly so many opportunities and resources available to us. There are so many ways to get involved, it is simply a matter of taking advantage of them.
Fun Fact: I spent a month in Europe this summer!

What I enjoy most about being a business student: I enjoy understanding other people's ambitions. It's amazing to hear their background, talents and passion that factor into choosing their area of focus.

What are your career goals after graduation?: While my career goals are not super planned out, I seek to work in an area of marketing that has to do with branding and advertising, specifically in sports and entertainment. I plan to work in Texas for a few years and then hopefully find some work up in the Northeast!
Fun Fact: My go to Starbucks drink is a Matcha with brown sugar syrup!

What I enjoy most about being a business student: I enjoy challenging myself everyday whether it be in classes or taking it upon myself to learn more about real world situations going on. I also love collaborating in my classes and coming up with creative solutions to different problems.

What I Did This Summer: I interned at MMNT Certified Public Accountants in Manchester, CT. Through this, I have gained firsthand experience in the accounting industry by shadowing professionals and learning about the specifics of preparing tax returns and the audit process. Besides that, I ran every day, read, and spent time with my friends and family!
Fun Fact: I am a huge Taylor Swift fan and have gone to six of her concerts!

What I Enjoy Most About Being a Business Student: I enjoy how many opportunities we come across and that it is very accessible to all. As business students we are always surrounded by positive influences to help us succeed and create better futures. I also enjoy meeting new people all the time, learning about their experiences as business students, and applying what I learned from them to strengthen my network.

Hometown: Stamford, CT
Campus Involvement: I have been involved with the BCLC, SGA, Entrepreneurship Committee and Women in Business club. This upcoming fall I will be the co-chair for the Women in Business club. I currently work at Slice of Stamford and Chelsea Piers! I haven’t studied abroad but I will definitely do it if I come across an opportunity!
What are your career goals after graduation?: I hope to work or intern for a Big Four Firm after graduation. I also plan on pursuing the 4+1 program for the Financial Risk Management Major here on the Stamford campus. I’m not sure yet if I will work and study simultaneously or only go to school full-time, but I am excited for my future!
Fun Fact: I played tennis competitively all of high school and was captain my senior year!

Campus Involvement: During my first year, I worked as a Student Administrative Assistant at UConn's CCEI Office in Hartford.
What are your career goals after graduation?: Although I haven't completely decided what career path I want to take in business, I hope to work in an industry that I am passionate about, such as healthcare, beauty, or even a non-profit organization.
Fun Fact: I'm Indo-Carribean, and I love Shahrukh Khan.

Campus Involvement: I am an Honors scholar student and the chair of the Honors Student Leadership Board at the Hartford campus. I was the treasurer of the Undergraduate student government on the Hartford campus. I am a member of the Empowered Women Collective and UConn Business Professionals.
What I Enjoy Most About Being a Business Student: I enjoy the creativity and flexibility of the classes. The variety of classes within the field of business is interesting. It really allows us to pursue what's right for our interests. It is a very practical field and very interactive.
