UConn Investment Banking Society

The UConn Investment Banking Society is an organization that strives to be the home for UConn’s most motivated and passionate students focused in investment banking. Through it’s relentless efforts to teach and train students useful knowledge in the field, membership in the UIBS will materially translate to success in the investment banking industry. The network base and resources offered by the organization, in conjunction with the experiential learning that is introduced to students from their membership, will provide individuals with a very promising future in investment banking.

  2. After applying, you will be invited to interview. Interviews will be conducted in the spring.
  3. If you interview successfully, you will be admitted into the society which will meet in person on Tuesday nights from 6-7 pm.

    Evan Alfano is a senior finance major from Marlborough, CT. He is the President and Founder of the UConn Investment Banking Society. Last summer he worked as a summer analyst in New York City at CitiGroup within their Global Structured Debt team, where he will be returning next year. He looks forward to growing and building the UIBS to help students break into the field of investment banking. In his free time, he likes to: cook, lift weights, learn Spanish, and go cliff jumping.

    Mason is a junior pursuing a major in Finance with a minor in economics. Aside from being the Vice President of the UConn Investment Banking society, Mason is on the men's baseball team, a member of the professional business fraternity Delta Sigma Pi, and a member of the Finance Society. Next summer he will be interning at William Blair as a summer analyst in their investment banking Equity Capital Markets division. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, golfing, and traveling.

    Griffin is a junior Finance major with a minor in accounting. He is the Treasurer of the Uconn Investment Banking Society and is looking forward to helping underclassmen network and learn the technical and soft skills required to break into the industry. Last semester, he interned at a boutique investment bank in Brevard, NC, and is currently seeking opportunities for Summer 2022. In his free time, he enjoys playing tennis, cooking, and spending time with his friends.

    Claire is a junior Finance major from Ridgefield, CT. She is the Secretary of the Investment Banking Society and a member of the Women’s Soccer Team. Additionally, she is the Treasurer of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and Executive Board member of the Finance Society. This past summer she interned at Citibank in the Sophomore Leadership Program in the Capital Markets group and she will be returning to Citi in Summer 2022. In her free time, she enjoys running and spending time with friends and family.

    Ish is a junior finance major in the Honors Program at the School of Business. Currently, Ish serves as the Managing Director of the UConn Consulting Group, she is also involved with Hillside Ventures, the Fed Challenge, and Global Business Programs. Ish has held internship roles at a startup called Novo Services Group, IBM, and most recently, G Squared, a venture capital firm. In the future, Ish hopes to pursue roles in financial services or asset management. In her free time, she enjoys playing tennis and spending time with friends and family.

    Thomas Drumm is an Honors Sophomore student at the University of Connecticut pursuing a Finance major. In addition to his role as Director of Marketing, Thomas is part of the Special Program in Law, serves as the Director of Alumni Relations for the Honors in Business Association, and is on the Programming Committee for Finance Society. Last summer he interned at Thomaston Savings Bank and previously worked in a retirement community in his hometown. In his spare time, Thomas enjoys hiking, camping, and playing golf.

    Carson is a sophomore honors student pursuing a dual degree in Finance and Economics with a concentration in Corporate Finance. Carson is from Dunwoody, Georgia. He is the Director of Current Events and looks forward to updating the society on news relating to the IB industry and market as a whole. In the summer of 2021, Carson interned at WealthyHabits, a small company in Georgia, where he taught financial literacy to adolescents. In his free time, Carson enjoys hanging out with friends, learning Italian, calisthenics, and watching UFC. His goal is to work two years in Investment Banking, two years in Private Equity, and then two years pursuing an MBA from a top school."
