Engagement in the Field for Business Honors Students
The Undergraduate Business Career Office looks forward to working with Honors students to support their professional growth and career development. Business Honors students who complete at least 5 of the action steps below can complete their "Engagement in the Field" requirement.
To receive credit for attendance at these events, students must email recruit.business@uconn.edu (Subject line: Honors Attendance) with the following information after each event attended: Title of the Event, Date attended, and one-line of summary for the event (if you are using a combination of the three Career Tuesday or Tap in Tuesday events, please wait until three are completed to report your attendance).
Once all five events have been attended, email recruit.business@uconn.edu to confirm you have completed the requirement, who will then share approval with your Faculty Honors Advisor. These events must be attended, attendance validated, and requirement confirmed through this process prior to your junior year to take advantage of this opportunity.
Fall 2026 Approved Events
One-on-One Resume Review session with a Business Career Coach (Appointment Link)
- Students may schedule an in-person or virtual one-on-one meeting with any Business Career Coach to review your career journey as told through a resume. It is recommended that students update their resume each semester, and be sure to identify Honors Status clearly.
One-on-One Practice Interview with a Business Career Coach (Appointment Link)
- While AI resources such as Quincia are a great starting point, meeting one-on-one with a career coach lets you sharpen your interview skills and get immediate, personalized feedback.
Stamford Part Time Career Fair (Register Here)
- Tuesday, September 2 from 11am-1:30pm, Rich Concourse, Stamford campus
- Seeking a part time job during the academic year? Meet employers from local businesses seeking to hire UConn students for various part time positions. Gain core competencies essential for career readiness, such as teamwork, communication skills, and professionalism through these early work experiences.
Storrs Fall Career Fair - All Majors (Register Here)
- Tuesday, September 22 from 11am-3pm, Student Union 3rd Floor, Storrs campus
- Attending a career fair is a great way to connect with potential employers and explore different opportunities. Employers from various industries will be present, offering internships, co-op positions, and full-time job opportunities. Remember to research the participating companies beforehand, practice your elevator pitch, and approach the fair with enthusiasm and curiosity. Dress professionally, bring your resume, and prepare some questions for the recruiters. BE CURIOUS! And encourage your roommate and friends from a club or class to join you!
BCLC Storrs Professional Development Conference (Register via email)
- Saturday, October 3 from 9am-1pm, School of Business on Storrs campus
- Dress is business professional attire, and lunch will be served!
- More details to come - Honors students must participate and attend the full day in order for experience to count as an approved event. Must email Amanda Spada (amanda.spada@uconn.edu) by 9/15 to sign up for sessions.

- Wednesday, October 7 from 1:30pm-4pm, Concourse, Light-Spine Welcome-Center Area, 1.08 (MPR), Stamford campus

Hartford Fall Career Fair (Register Here)
- Thursday, November 5 from 3:30pm-6pm, Zach's Atrium in Hartford Times Building, Hartford campus
- Previously known as the Winter Break Career Fair, this reimagined event features a new date and format designed for UConn students, particularly those based at the Hartford campus, who are seeking internship and employment opportunities in the Greater Hartford area and beyond!
One "Freebie" Event of your choosing!
- Must be hosted or organized by the School of Business, or the UConn Center for Career Readiness and Life Skills; in your email reporting the event, please share one or two sentences about what value this event brought to your career exploration
- Examples include: Marketing & Sales Day, OFP Career Day, Career Fair Prep, etc.

School of Business Honors Day - TBD, Spring 2027
- Late April 2027
- Join the School of Business for Honors Day where Business students (in the Honors program, or interested in applying to the Honors program) can connect with one another, meet and mingle with Honors Faculty, and hear graduating Senior Business Honors students present on their thesis projects. The dress code is casual, and light refreshments will be served.
Students must attend three of the following to satisfy a maximum of one of the five required engagement events:
Business Career Tuesday (Weekly Updates)
- Tuesdays from 12pm-2:30pm, in-person starting 9/8 in the School of Business Atrium on the Storrs Campus
- These are Employer visits usually structured as tabling events, where you can swing by anytime. Plan to stay for 15-20 minutes to connect with employers and learn about opportunities.
