School of Business First Term Advising - Fall 2025
Welcome to the First Term Advising Program for students in the School of Business!
This virtual, asynchronous program is designed to support you as you begin your academic journey. Advising is a required step for all first-term Business students, and this program will help you:
- Understand key academic requirements
- Explore your major’s plan of study
- Get ready for Spring course registration
You can complete the modules at your own pace and on your own schedule. Plan for 60 minutes to complete the three steps outlined below. We recommend finishing these steps during mid-September, so you’ll have plenty of time to schedule your Peer Mentor meeting for September or October, ahead of registration.
Next Steps:
- Follow the instructions provided
- Complete all modules
- Schedule a follow-up meeting with your Peer Mentor
Please note, a Business Advising Enrollment Hold will be placed on your record and will be lifted once you’ve completed all steps.
If you have any questions along the way, we’re here to help! Feel free to stop by during our Drop-In Advising Hours. We’re excited to support you this semester!
Important:
- It is recommended that you view the presentation in full screen mode, and go at your own pace.
- Please try a different browser if you have trouble viewing the videos, or email your advisor if you require special accommodations.
You may bring either an electronic or hard copy of your audited plan of study to your Peer Mentor meeting.
Once you have viewed the required and optional modules, completed a self-audit, and created a plan for Spring registration, schedule an appointment with your Peer Mentor. You can schedule a meeting through the following steps:
- Login to Nexus with your NetID and password
- Click on "Mentoring Hub"
- Click "Schedule Appointment" under the picture of your School of Business Peer Mentor
- Select and appointment time that works for you and mark it in your calendar!
Important:
- You must bring your audited plan of study (either electronic or hard copy) and your plan for Spring registration to your Peer Mentor appointment
- Please arrive on time and prepared, if you miss your appointment your registration for Spring may be delayed.
