Transfer Opportunities
There are two avenues for prospective CT State Community College transfer students to seek admission to the School of Business at the University of Connecticut. If you are transferring from another institution that is not Connecticut State Community College, please visit this page.
1.
Direct Admission as a Transfer Student
Fulfill specific pre-requisites while attending CT State Community College to be eligible for consideration for direct transfer admission to Business. Direct admission requires all seven of Business critical courses competed prior to transfer.
Direct Admission to Business
To be considered for admission to UConn as a transfer student, UConn Admissions requires:
- Academic course work comparable to UConn's General Education Requirements
- Good standing at, and eligible to return to, the last institution of higher education attended. Students who have been dismissed for any reason — academic, disciplinary, or otherwise — must satisfactorily complete one year of challenging, full-time academic course work at another institution before applying to UConn.
For admission to Business majors offered at Storrs including:
- Accounting
- Analytics and Information Management
- Finance
- Health Care Management
- Management
- Management and Engineering for Manufacturing
- Marketing
- Real Estate and Urban Economic Studies
The minimum criteria for consideration is:
- 3.3 cumulative GPA (4.0 scale)
- Must have minimum of 40 credits earned and completed prerequisites
- Bachelor degree holders are not eligible
For admission to Business Majors offered at Hartford, Waterbury, and Stamford including:
- Business Administration (Waterbury campus only)
- Business Data Analytics
- Financial Management (Stamford campuses only)
- Marketing Management (Hartford and Stamford campuses only)
The minimum criteria for consideration is:
- 3.0 cumulative GPA (4.0 scale)
- Must have minimum of 40 credits earned and completed prerequisites
- Bachelor's degree holders are not eligible
College of Technology Pathway
The College of Technology Pathway is a partnership between the Connecticut State University system and the UConn School of Engineering.
Students interested in the Management for Engineering and Manufacturing program (MEM) may apply into MEM after admission to UConn as a transfer student.

Guaranteed Admissions Program
The Guaranteed Admission Program (GAP) is an agreement between the Connecticut Community College System and the University of Connecticut, designed for students who enroll in a liberal arts transfer program at one of Connecticut's community colleges to transfer seamlessly to the University of Connecticut without needing to apply. Students are guaranteed admission to the University of Connecticut once the associate degree has been earned, appropriate courses have been completed, and minimum grades and requirements for the selected program have been achieved. To be eligible for GAP:
- Enroll at a Connecticut community college.
- Apply to the Guaranteed Admission Program with 30 or fewer transferable credits
- Earn an associate degree in a Liberal Arts Transfer Program within five years.
- Achieve a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.3. The grade point average will be calculated for all courses taken, including all grades for any repeated courses.
- Complete all School of Business Critical Courses with a minimum grade of B.
- Plan to earn a bachelor's degree in a School of Business program at UConn.
- Once you determine your desired UConn campus, you must choose from the Business majors offered at that campus.
Accounting Pathway
The Accounting Transfer Pathway is offered only to students at Manchester Community College.

Internal Admission After Becoming a UConn Student
Transfer to UConn with some or none of the seven of Business critical courses for the School of Business and pursue internal admission to Business as a UConn student.
Missing some pre-requisites for a direct admissions pathway? Transfer to UConn as an Exploratory student or a different major and later apply into the School of Business. Business has an internal admissions process for UConn students.
