Interpersonal Support Resources
We recognize that career development intersects with many aspects of student success
NEURODIVERSITY
UConn has several resources dedicated to researching and raising awareness about neurodiversity, as well as providing support to neurodiverse members of our community:

STUDENT HEALTH AND WELLNESS (SHAW)
Student Health and Wellness at UConn offers a comprehensive set of services to ensure the health and well-being of our students. In the United States, it is very common to seek professional care if we are feeling emotional and physical symptoms that may be tied to mental health conditions.
If you are unsure if your symptoms could benefit from further counseling, you can visit SHaW during their drop-in hours or schedule an appointment. There are staff available who speak different languages. SHaW also maintains a crisis line.

IMMEDIATE MEDICAL CARE
If you are experiencing a serious and immediate life-threatening crisis, please bypass calling Student Health and Wellness and immediately call 911 or the UConn Police Department.
Although most people associate calling 911 with medical emergencies, they also support people with mental health emergencies such as thoughts of suicide.
Advice Nurses are available to assist you by answering health-related questions.
