Experiential Certificates

The School of Business offers a variety of Experiential Certificates throughout the academic year or term.

Global Business Leadership Seminar Series (GBLSS)

The GBLSS certificate is offered in partnership with the Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER), the International Business Society, and the Center for Career Development.  It is only offered during spring semesters.  These seminars afford students the opportunity to earn a Professional Development Certificate from the School of Business while learning from international business leaders. This certificate is available to all graduate and undergraduate UConn students, and students may earn a certificate each spring semester if they so choose. A certificate is achieved by attending three out of the four GBLSS lectures offered during the semester (students complete and submit a registration form at each of the three lectures attended). It is a great place to network and will enhance the understanding of the global economy.

Certificate in Diversity Leadership

The Diversity in Business Lectures are offered during the fall and spring semesters and consist of a series of presentations by School of Business Alumni or industry professionals. The purpose of the lecture series is to provide students with an opportunity to learn about diversity, leadership, creativity, product innovation, entrepreneurial thinking, persuasive communication, and the art of "putting it all together" from industry executives or UConn Alumni. Students who attend 3 of the 4 lectures will be awarded a certificate in Diversity Leadership in April.

Export Compliance Certificate

The UConn School of Business CIBER, Department of Management, the BCLC and the International Business Association have created this program in partnership with the Connecticut District Export Council to promote knowledge about exporting to students who may wish to have this additional skill for their resumes and potential internships.  In a global economy, knowledge of exporting logistics and compliance is crucial for businesses of all sizes, as 95% of all consumers live outside the U.S. Achieving this certificate will help prepare students to assist an SME (Small to Medium size Enterprise) to either begin or expand their exporting capabilities.
