Get Involved
The UConn Investment Banking Society is an organization that strives to be the home for UConn’s most motivated and passionate students focused in investment banking. Through it’s relentless efforts to teach and train students useful knowledge in the field, membership in the UIBS will materially translate to success in the investment banking industry. The network base and resources offered by the organization, in conjunction with the experiential learning that is introduced to students from their membership, will provide individuals with a very promising future in investment banking.

Mason Kolean

Mason is a senior pursuing a major in Finance with a minor in entrepreneurship. Aside from being the President of the UConn Investment Banking society, Mason is on the men's baseball team, a managing director at Hillside Ventures, a member of the professional business fraternity Delta Sigma Pi, and a member of the Finance Society. Post graduation he will join William Blair as an analyst in their investment banking Equity Capital Markets division. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, golfing, and traveling.

Nick Janus

Nicholas Janus is a Junior Electrical Engineering major and economics minor from Colchester, CT. He is the Vice President of the Investment Banking Society. He is also a member of the Finance and Real Estate societies. Outside of his academic career, Nick enjoys golfing, traveling, and spending time with his friends. Last summer, Nick interned in strategy consulting with Accenture focusing in business development strategy, pre-merger due diligence, and post-merger integration. Nick has also interned with a corporate law firm specializing in Intellectual Property. Next summer, Nick intends to work with Accenture again focused on financial risk in Mergers and Acquisitions consulting. His goal is to eventually mix his interests in finance and technology and start a private equity fund focused on Intellectual Property acquisitions.

Hi everyone! My name is Aaron Ky and I am the Treasurer of the UConn Investment Banking Society. I joined my fall semester of sophomore year and absolutely loved the environment and the people within the club. I am currently a Junior studying Finance and hope to learn even more from this society. I grew up in Wethersfield, CT and spent most of my life there. Now, I’m in West Hartford interning at Travelers in their Underwriting program. Next year, I plan on going through Synchrony’s finance intern track. Outside of classes and this club, I am involved with other clubs such as CUSA (Chinese Undergraduate Student Association) and the Co-Ed volleyball club. In my free time, you could also find me either playing the guitar or the piano.

Hi, My name is Nikhlesh Sivakumar, a Junior pursuing a dual degree in Bachelors of Science in Finance with Honors, and also a Bachelors of Science in Economics. I am a part of Coffee Club and love to play Ultimate Frisbee in my spare time. Currently, I love to invest in cryptocurrency, real estate, and stocks and learning about personal finance. In the near future, I am planning to break into the Investment banking industry, specifically into M&A Advisory.

Carson is a junior honors student pursuing a dual degree in Finance and Economics with a concentration in Corporate Finance. Carson is from Dunwoody, Georgia. He is the Director of Current Events and looks forward to updating the society on news relating to the IB industry and market as a whole. In the summer of 2022, Carson interned with WestHome, a real estate startup in Georgia, doing underwriting and research. In his free time, Carson enjoys hanging out with friends, learning Italian, calisthenics, and watching UFC. His goal is to work two years in Investment Banking, two years in Private Equity, and then two years pursuing an MBA from a top school.

Shreekar Viswanatha

Shreekar is a junior finance major from South Windsor Connecticut and Co-Chair of the current events committee. He is also part of Finance Society and the Outing Club here at UCONN. This past summer he interned with Monte Financial Group as a Equity Research Intern and in his free time he likes to be outdoors, hangs out with friends, and work out.

Thomas Drumm is a Junior Finance major and Environmental Economics & Policy minor from Southbury, CT. He is the Director of Marketing of the Investment Banking Society. He is also a Project Lead for the Consulting Group, Conference Director for the Finance Society, and a member of the Fed Challenge Team. Outside of academics, Thomas enjoys playing golf, hiking, lacrosse, and spending time with family/friends. This past Summer Thomas was an Investment Banking Summer Analyst for Belden Hill Partners focusing on Mergers & Acquisitions. Next Summer Thomas will be an Investment Banking Summer Analyst at Goldman Sachs. His goal is to combine his passion for Investment Banking and renewable energy initiatives in the future.

Dhanush Kotumraju is a junior from South Windsor, CT double majoring in Finance and Statistics. This summer Dhanush was a PE Summer Analyst at Great Mountain Partners. Aside from UIBS, Dhanush is involved with Hillside Ventures, Finance Society, and the CFA Research Challenge. In his free time, Dhanush enjoys watching sports, playing spikeball, and hanging out with friends and family.

Evan is a junior finance major from Glastonbury, CT and is currently part of the marketing committee at UIBS. Next summer, Evan will intern at Credit Suisse as an investment banking summer analyst. Outside of UIBS, Evan is involved in Hillside Ventures, UConn Consulting Group, and Husky Case Competition Club. In his free time, Evan likes running, exploring, and trying new food!
